Podcasts, Podcasts, Podcasts! More Interviews with Good People
AUTHOR: BRAD LUTTRELL, CO-FOUNDER
We've been running around like a turkey with its head shot off (wait, is that how that saying goes?). We recently introduced our Brand Ambassadors and Field Staff team, we're working on the Android build night and day, we're always working on the next giveaway, and, of course, we're always working on the future builds of the app (at this point, if you're wondering how often Chris and I fall asleep at our desks, the answer is yes).
But somehow in between all of that work, I've had a chance to sit down and do a little chit chat, too. Over the last few weeks, I've done quite a few hours of podcasts, starting with GoWild™ Brand Ambassador Samuel Ayres.
Living Country in the City
You all may know Samuel better from his podcast brand, Living Country in the City. After bagging some big-time guests like Jim Shockey, Samuel's turned some heads in the industry. He hails from Los Angeles, believe it or not, and yet has found a way to leave his job in tech, and create a really honest and genuine brand around hunting. I think it's his authenticity that's generating so much attention for his podcast right now. That and he's just a good storyteller.
I had the pleasure of chatting with Samuel a few weeks ago, and I have to say, this one was particularly exciting because we hit the tech side of GoWild really hard. If you've ever wondered what makes this thing work, this is the show for you. Since Samuel is a bit of a tech geek, too, we do run down a few rabbit holes (SQUIRREL!), but I think you'll like it if you like the app. Take a listen:
Real World Redneck
Chris and I were introduced by Maverick from Hunt Perfect, who you all are familiar with from our giveaway. To be honest, I'm so over saturated right now it's really hard to pick up any more podcasts. There are just so many good ones, I have a ton that I wish I had time to check out and just can't. I hadn't listened to Chris' show before, and wasn't sure I'd have time to really dig in. But I started listening to a show about turkey hunting, and I did end up getting sucked into how Chris approaches turkey hunting.
What I like about Chris' show is his approach—he's looking to help beginners get outside. He's giving real world advice that's not going to intimidate a newbie. That resonates with me, because that's a huge part of why I wanted to found GoWild. Chris and I touch on that, cooking (you knew I'd take us there) and much more. This is a fun episode. Check it out:
Outdoor Scoreboard Podcast
These guys have been recording for a long time. When David asked me if I'd be interested in chatting on his show, I didn't hesitate. I love chatting about the app and what we're up to. What I didn't anticipate was for him to start chatting about UK basketball. I talk with David and Matt about the SEC, and much more in this quick one. Check it out here.
