July 26, 2023

Author: Brayden Ware

In this article, we'll be exploring five great saddle options to consider for this deer season. These are recommended saddle hunting saddles from the GoWild community. Once we get through them all you can pick the one that suits you best.

I’ll also include my personal experience whenever it’s relevant. We’ll start with Timber Ninja and then move onto Tethrd, then Trophyline, then Latitude Outdoors and finally, Hawk. I’ll share the price, the weight, some features and a GoWild post about each one after a brief overview. Let's dive in!

Timber Ninja Black Belt Nano Saddle

Brief Timber Ninja Black Belt Nano Saddle Overview

Check out the Timber Ninja Black Belt Nano Saddle, a game-changer for minimalist hunters. This saddle, made in North Carolina, is very versatile and durable with its stretchy American-made fabrics.

Weighing only 1lb with the bridge rope (less than 1lb without it), it's the lightest hunting saddle on the market. It includes magnetic stick holders, a magnetic platform holder, and meets OSHA Fall Restraint standards. Plus, it minimizes hip pinch and accepts the Uni Shoulder Strap System. (Note: Bags and accessories sold separately).

This might be the lightest saddle I’ve ever come across, I’ve worn it and it is shockingly light. I also couldn’t believe that such a lightweight material could stretch the way it does without feeling unsafe or flimsy.

  • Utilizes American Made Fabrics

Trophyline Venatic Saddle

Trophyline Venatic Saddle

Brief Trophyline Venatic Saddle Overview

Next up is the Trophyline Venatic Saddle, that’s designed for quality and comfort in the lightest package they could muster. This 100% USA Made saddle utilizes ultralight ripstop fabric, ensuring silence, breathability, and quick drying. The days of bulky straps are long gone; Trophyline has reimagined the supports to provide unparalleled luxury. Experience ultimate comfort and flexibility without stiffness, pinching, or cramping.

The Venatic offers a lot of surface area while maintaining a light presence. I picked up one of these in the middle of the season last year because of my buddies saying they really liked it. I’ve gotten to do some practicing out of it for this year and I’m definitely a fan.

It’s definitely bigger than some of the ones that pride themselves on strictly being light, you’ll find more comfort in this one than you might in others but it will take up more real estate on your backside. If you think you’ll want to be in a seated position for a lot of the time this is a great option for you.

Saddle Price: $299.99

Saddle Weight: 30 ounces (including the bridge & carabiner)

Saddle Features:

  • Rubberized Waistband
  • Raptor Waist and leg strap buckles
  • Ultralight Ripstop Fabric Construction
  • Rigid Rubber Molle Band
  • Two bands of additional Molle
  • Saddle Compression Hook
  • Durable Foldback lineman loops
  • Adjustable Waist Buckle and Band Position
