I want to start by saying that I hate giving bad reviews but on this one I felt compelled to be completely upfront about my experience. Out of the box these boots look and feel well made and durable. Unfortunately the first time I tried them on and attempted to cinch down the calf strap it broke off. Aside from that issue they’re actually mostly great in my opinion. They’re very comfortable for walking as long as you’re staying on flattish ground. I actually went on a 2 mile hike in my with a weighted pack and the boots felt great. The insole and firm but spongy, almost like a memory foam. Initially I was worried that the ankles were a bit narrow and rubbed a little but that seemed to go away once I broke them in a little bit. My only other complaint about them is that the toe box is a little bigger than I’d like. Not really an issue on flat ground but if you’re dealing with any sort of elevation changes that might cause some rubbing and blisters on your feet. It was a little too big on me to solve with just adding a thicker sock. All in all, it’s a good boot and most folks would be very happy with it but it will not be replacing my Lacrosse Alpha Burley Pros for hunting purposes. I’ll definitely be able to toss my $20 generic rubber boots and use these around the house for mucking around though.
