    Mine Use to be 30-06. I loved my 30-06 ended up getting a matching gun to my 30-06 that was chambered in 270. I fell in love so I’d have to say 270 .

    244. I use 6mm Rem. Federal Powershock 100 grain.
    I can not find brass for 244. I believe they stopped 244 production in the early 1960's.

    I've never shot a whitetail with a rifle other than a muzzleloader, rifles weren't allowed in illinois until this year. With that being said I'll be trying out the .350 legend.

  • Nick's avatar

    Never rifle hunted deer. Prolly 350 legend though 🤷🏻‍♂️

    Never hunted deer with a rifle in Illinois, hasn't been legal till this year, but I'd probably go with the .308.

  • Charlie's avatar

    @Ethan Doesn’t take a canon — .243, .270, 6.5, etc are all fine.

  • Charlie's avatar

    My personal favorite has been .308 but I’d like a .243 or .257 Roberts. Never owned either. #PushYourRange

    I like the .308 Good 30 caliber stopping power, the rounds are easy to find, and are cheap than other 30 caliber rounds like the .300

    .300 Weatherby 165 grain ballistic tips. Always drops them in their tracks for a more ethical kill.

  • Scot's avatar

    For most of my whitetail hunting I'm shooting 50 yds or less... so, I take the Henry 357 lever action with handloaded 158 grain Hornady XTP. On the occasional hunt that offers longer range shots... I sending 180 grain Nosler ballistic tips from my Remington 700 in .30-06.
