Whitetail Hunting in Oklahoma: Declining Deer Activity this October

People talk about the October lull, but the deer movement in southeast Tennessee has not slowed down at all…at least for me. Good luck!

I think it’s mainly due to the warm weather honestly!

@Dominion it’s a bit cooler here than it usually is in Oklahoma at this time. But hopefully this cold front brings them in!

@Tiffany oh got ya, it’s been mid 80s basically since opener here other than one front prior to this one

We’ve been 70-80s but it’s often 80-90s where I am in OK through the end of October. It’s miserable 😅

@Tiffany we have a velvet hunt on the last wkend in August and then our bow season opens on the last wkend in September, then muzzleloader and then big gun (rifle)

@Zach I would love it if they’d open a velvet hunt here. Ours opens October 1 for bow
