    Definitely wool for base layer. Easily removable and packable outers.

    Walk in light and layer up at the stand!! What part of the state you hunting?

  • Wayne's avatar

    @Billy honestly I ain't real sure. My buddy has family over there and I know is south central. It's pretty close to the Ohio River on the border of Kentucky and Ohio.

    You’ll be in my neck of the woods!!! I live just outside of Portsmouth which is right on the river. All kinds of public land out here as well

    Cool! My mom lives close to the river, in Maysville KY.
    Have a blast, Wayne!
    I dressed in layers in MT, but the winters here are way different...more chill you to tell bone. Out there we did wool first and layered on top of that.

    Crazy that we don't have EDIT features yet in comments. I get tired of messing up and won't delete and retype. Lol Brad tells me, "just stop messing up!" 😅🤪

    @Billy yea I know his families property backs up to public but I ain't sure where exactly.

    @Lisa I'm really looking forward to the trip. This will be my first experience hunting out of state. And yea I feel ya on the edit thing...I also won't take the time to delete and retype. Oh well as long as people know what I'm trying to say that's all that matters lol

    @Lisa I will be sure to take plenty. Maybe one will actually be of a deer lol

    🤣😅 That made me laugh! Heck, Wayne.. I spent 4 years WATCHING and helping my husband in Montana from -2° to what felt like 90° one time...hunting. After 4 years of hunting visually and "assisting" I got my Mathews bow. And wouldnt ya know it...I've only taken one shot at an elk, and missed (I blame it on not being focused SMALL, since I shoot my compound instinctively). Then I moved to this gawd awful state (too many people and muggy) and don't see any wildlife but a handful of squirrels, mallards, and Canadian geese.
    I rambled on that much to say.....I would "feel your pain" if you didn't get a deer.....but I'm going to believe it will be the time of your life and you'll land a monster buck! Make the Beatty buck look small😁😉

    @Lisa I am sure it will be an experience I never forget and it will be a blessing to have this opportunity. Maybe God will bless me with a nice buck to show off as well, although I don't think I want one that big. I know that sounds crazy, but, I don't really think I would like having all the publicity. Lol

    That time of year it could be anywhere from 60s to low teens. I usually just wear a long sleeved shirt then pack a mid weight jacket on top of my stand. The heat is in the hills lol

  • Wayne's avatar

    @Thomas yea I figured the hills would keep me pretty warm. I think we will mostly be doing drives so as long as I'm moving I think I'll be ok.

  • Bradley's avatar

    @Lisa yea Lisa…like it’s totally your fault 🤪🤪🤪🤪

  • Lisa's avatar

    @Bradley Lol! Hey, my friend! Good to see ya again!

    Missing, ya mean?

  • Bradley's avatar

    @Lisa I’m around…just gotten good at lying low 😆😆😆
