I like the “materialized out of nowhere” theory. It’s more exciting. 

That is awesome! I got my first muley last year, the first day of the hunt I had one do the same thing and just popped up out of nowhere!

First mule deer! Was stalking a group a three bucks over a thousand yards away and this one materialized out of no where 60 yards in front of me, must have been bedded down and jumped him up by accident.
