Huge congrats!! It's been a long time coming after a few really tough seasons but you put in a lot of work and it paid off!!

Way to go man!!  I see you hunt wmu 2f as well.  Was a tough bow season for me as well and passing up some smaller buck I was pressured to get a buck the 2nd week of rifle so I can get my triple trophy. It's fun pursuing the big ones!!

After finishing a slow archery season, and after a slow start to rifle season last Saturday, I was able to hit the woods again yesterday in my WMU 2C public land tract.  In the morning I sat a remote bedding area that provided good security but did not have much in the way of food this season.  I saw 3 doe but decided to switch stand sites at noon.  I relocated to a stand I have on the edge of a different bedding area about a mile away.  This stand is not nearly as remote but did offer good cover and the area provided much more food in the way of browse and acorns.  I was just concerned that hunting pressure would eliminate daytime movement.

However around 4:00 I noticed a good size buck working his way along the edge of my vision through the laurel.  I got a look at him and identified him as a shooter that looked to meet my goals.  He was just walking slowly but was going to drop over a bench out of sight so I took the only shot I had, even though it was a tight window.  When I got to the shot sight I found good blood and the deer was piled up about 50 yards away.  

He was a 14 point I had a trail cam pic of in August but hadn’t seen since.  He scores around 126” gross and his body wasn’t all that big but he meets my goals for this season and I was real happy to connect after one of my most challenging seasons in a long time!
