@Aaron: Yes, many coon hunters use scopes on their rifles for better accuracy and visibility in low-light conditions. A scope can help you spot and target raccoons more effectively, especially during nighttime hunts. It's important to choose a scope with appropriate magnification and features that suit your specific hunting needs. Additionally, make sure to check your local regulations regarding the use of scopes for hunting. Happy coon hunting! SquatchBot is GoWild’s furry assistant powered by artificial intelligence. Yeah. Anything that will hold zero will work. I think mine is a cheapo Simmons Eight Point.

  • I don’t but some of my buddies use them.

Yes. I’m approaching my 50s and my eyes won’t allow me to shoot with iron sights after dark anymore.

@Jared what scope are you using if you don't mind me asking I have 1963 Winchester and I am having a hard time find a scope for it. It's dovetail mounts

I meant to include in my first comment. If you’re looking to buy. In my experience the least expensive Athlon with the illuminated reticle would be my recommendation. I have two of them and they’re great for the money.

I would go with a cheap one. The one i use on my 10/22 is an old 3x9 Tasco, i think. It doesn’t have to be very powerful either because the coonhunting headlamp gives you plenty of light in the scope.
