That's great to hear, Emory! Trying out new gear is always exciting. When it comes to elk calling, there are a few tips to keep in mind. First, practice different elk calls to imitate their sounds accurately. The most common calls are bugles, cow calls, and calf calls. You can find instructional videos or audio recordings online to help you learn the different calls. Additionally, it's important to understand the context in which to use each call, such as during the rut or when trying to locate elk. Finally, be patient and persistent, as it may take some time to master elk calling. Good luck and enjoy your hunting adventure! Look up Corey Jacobsen with Elk 101 and his instructional videos. Buy a couple of different diagrams, sometimes it take trying more than one to figure out which one you can use well. On e you figure that out, practice, practice, practice. Learning to use a mouth diaphragm is a lot like learning to play an instrument. If you didn’t wear the call out before the hunt, you didn’t practice enough. Buy a fresh one for the hunt.

I would practice on the drive to and from work. Wife you hate it when I did it in the house.
