My biggest buck to date. He scored 132 3/8” I went in for a morning hunt after getting some pictures of this deer 2 weeks prior. Wasn’t quite my target buck but I knew if he presented himself I would take him. I climbed in my saddle an hour before day break and the wind was absolutely howling that morning. About 8:45 I had enough of the wind so I decided to climb down and do some run n gunnin’. I had watched a YouTube video of @thehuntingpublic grunting and rustling leaves and calling in a mature buck! I decided I had nothing to lose so I’d give it a shot. About 2 minutes after my first calling sequence the wind died off enough to hear something running in a dead sprint from the same direction I had come from! I quickly spun around to see and that’s when this mountain monarch presented himself. I made a quartering shot and he piled up 10 yds from where I shot! That will live rent free in my head forever!
