Trapping Beaver in Rocky Terrain

Beavers are the most industrious creatures I’ve ever matched wits with. I promise you, they’ll locate that break in the dam very quickly!

@Gobbler it's a very large pond/small lake. Unfortunately as of this morning, they haven't located it.

@Derek how long has it been breached? I wish I had a nickel for every beaver dam I destroyed when I was a game warden. We used to trap and relocate the beavers whenever practical. We used Clemson clamshell traps set at the breach. They’re tenacious. I don’t know when your season ends, but they’ll find and try to fix it. Beavers are just OCD that way. 🤪

@Gobbler this one has only been broken for a little over 24 hours now. A lot of times though if I have a good dam, they will usually try to fix it that night. They weren't really damming a lot of water in this spillway though, so that's why I think it may take them a little bit to find it. I wish I could find where/if they are denning on this pond, but it's huge and I don't have access to all of it.
