    I’m currently rolling with that little Ka-Bar M&P (I forget the actual model) knife. I had one of those small Bradfords for a while but it was just too small of a handle for me to ever fully love.

    I don’t have any fixed blade knives that really stand out. But I have a folding knife by Benchmade that is top notch. I’m assuming that their fixed blade knives are also high quality, but they are pricey. That will be my next purchase. Either that or there is this Swedish brand called Fallkniven, which I definitely can’t afford. Ha. What do you think of Esee? I don’t have any experience with them myself. At one point I checked them out but the quality of the steel didn’t seem all that great

    @Michael I have a Benchmade mini griptilian that is fantastic. I’ve heard excellent things about the fallkniven blades as well although I’ve never handled one.

    @Michael esee uses 1095 high carbon steel for most of their knives. It’s not fancy but it is absolutely a workhorse steel. It’s tough and holds an edge but also easy to sharpen

    @Michael plus the Esee warranty can’t be beat. If you manage to break it they’ll replace it. I’ve even seen where people have sharpened it so many times that it’s basically an ice pick and esee still honors the warranty

    @John Ka-bar makes some excellent knives! I’ve had a couple of their folders and even have one of the ka-bar Becker knives but I’ve hardly used it because it’s a little too much knife for my needs. Lol

    @Grant yeah the one I’m carrying now is small. Just a decent little jab knife. I used to rock a full size fighting knife and still like the idea for various reasons. But it draws too much attention.

    I carry my esee 4 while hunting and love it! My esee 5 is a great camping knife as well but a bit heavy for hunting

    I make knives so I usually have a couple of my own on me. A drop point and a small skinner I call my bear claw model

  • Grant's avatar

    @Dace the Esee 4 is excellent! I think I just slightly prefer the 3 just because it’s a little thinner.

    @Grant i will have to try one out for sure!

    @Kevin that’s some nice work!

    I carry an original Izula but plan to get the updated version.... I haven't tested the warranty but I love the knife

  • Grant's avatar

    @Craig the Izula is a fantastic knife but the Izula 2 is definitely better in my opinion. The longer handle makes all the difference!

    I use the benchmade saddle mountain skinner. Reliable blade that has consistently handled any work I’ve put it through.
