That IS true. That goes for putting out pics with no back story. I noticed long ago how everyone likes the story so I won't post a trophy pic without the whole tale. Just gives proper respect to the animals.

Very true. Current gf, not a hunter, not familiar with the lifestyle. Absolutely speechless I hunted so many days, and did not fire my rifle. Had to explain the actual harvesting, was a small slice of the overall activity of a hunting trip. Sharing only pics of harvests can give the impression, to the uninformed, that hunting is only about killing animals.

@Duane nailed it in so fewer words than most people can!

@Duane also gives the impression that hunting is "easy". Far from it. Animals are instinctual and you're on their turf. Not so "easy" when you start taking different factors into consideration...

@Brad Thanks. I really LOVE every minute of my time during a trip. It's such a blessing I am able to do this at all, compared to many who are limitted to surfing the interwebs, or watching TV endlessly. I'll often stop to take pics, speak with others I encounter on the trip, or in the woods. We are creatures made to adventure, be present, and experience things as much as possible. That's what hunting is to me, & try to do my best to do justice by that.

@Little Absolutely. It's never a guarantee, but sharing just harvests creates the social media virtual illussion. George, my late father-in-law, really got me into hunting. He would say taking game isn't the true measure of a successful hunter. Being able to successfully put yourself in the woods where the game is, THAT is the mark of a successful hunt/ hunter, whether you harvest animals or not. Whatever happens will happen. The excitement & satisfaction factors, you don't get those with buying your meat at a butcher. They are the icing on top of the whole hunting experience.

@Duane I LOVE his definition of successful! 100% spot on!
