Minnesota Mitch got the ball rolling for us in last nights video! After getting bumped twice by drivers the buck ended up running right into the funnel that Mitch was covering and he made a perfect shot at close range with open sights! One thing we have learned when doing drives with muzzleloaders is the importance of blocking off the best funnels that we expect deer to use as escape routes with multiple standers. With a muzzleloader shot selection is super important because there is rarely enough time for a follow up. After missing opportunities our first couple seasons doing drives in hill country we realized that if we put two guns on the best escape routes it would increase our odds of a good shot opportunity. Even though we didnt need it in this particular hunt when Mitch shot Doug was there for backup! Its really rewarding to adjust the plan and learn from mistakes made it in the past. The action from last nights video is just the beginning! The best action of the series is yet to come!
