Agreed. If you can’t afford an expensive one the brand WEN makes a nice one for a hobbyist that comes with a stand for a really seasonable price.

If I can give one piece of advice for what tools every person should have-besides screwdrivers, pliers, drill, and circular saw-it’s this: buy a bandsaw. You will have many projects and problems to solve and a bandsaw is such a needed tool. A neighbor was moving and asked if I wanted a bandsaw. Have used that thing a lot. Instead of having to buy something new to replace something that isn’t working right or something needs to be precisely cut, a bandsaw can/will meet the need. Whether it’s wood, metal, or plastic, a bandsaw will do it all.
