I sure do miss sugar season! The incredibly delightful aroma of wood smoke and scorched sap is forever etched in my memories. ☺️❤️🤤

How does that “better moustrap” work?

@Gobbler I will find out this spring. Should be able to cut the sap by 50%. Basically the same as an ro system you would put in your house but you throw away the pure water and keep the concentrated sap water. In a house you would keep the pure water and the impurities would go down the drain. The big commercial guys use huge RO systems to cut down their boiling time.

@Tom ahhhh. I never made more than a couple gallons of syrup, so I didn’t mind tapping the trees, carrying the buckets of sap, and boiling it all down to that thick, dark-brown deliciousness. 😍

@Gobbler that just doesn’t work in this instant gratification society🤪😜

@Tom what I wouldn’t give to lug those buckets of sap through knee-deep snow with my kids again…

First big game hunt was woodland caribou and a cow moose in Newfoundland at the age of 41. My son has been raised to respect and appreciate the hunting lifestyle. Cooking game has been the frosting on the hunting cake.
