    If possible it's better just to push it through and clip the barb off, slips right out. 30+ years of fishing that happened to me for the first time last year.

    Honestly the same here I’ve fished my hole life and never had one sunk with the barb in. I think all 3 of my boys have had one stuck in them at one point or another that I would get nominated to remove. I wasn’t even fishing when I did it just putting up everything in the boat.
