Great Buck!  High shots do seem to take a minute for the cavity to fill before leaving good blood. This is good info for our newer hunters to think about. 👍🏻

Was about a half hour from calling it a day when I saw a buck about 350 yards away and let out a grunt call just to see what would happen. As I expected he kept moving, so I sat down, put my bow on its hook and expected to go home empty handed. Less than a minute later this guy came running in, nose to the ground, then gave me a perfect broadside. Found the arrow broken about 10 yards away but no other blood. Started second guessing the shot so I backed out and had some breakfast before calling in a dog to track it. Ended up being a double lung shot just a little high so it took almost 40 yards for the blood trail to start up but once I saw the blood he wasn’t more than 20 yards from it.
