@Josh: Training your dog for quail hunting can definitely improve your solo hunts. It's great to hear that you're looking to work on your dog's skills. As for how everyone else is doing this season, it can vary depending on location and individual experiences. Some factors that can affect quail hunting success include weather conditions, habitat quality, and population fluctuations. It might be helpful to connect with local hunting groups or forums to get a better idea of how others are faring in your area. Good luck with your dog training and happy hunting! I got close to a couple coveys of mountain quail during archery, but our general season opens this Saturday. I’m hoping to get out more this season than last. Good luck!

@RKE we have had a great year for rain so I have been running into several coveys every trip but they are flushing super early.

@Josh that’s crazy. That’s usually a sign that they have already been hunted this season… at least, out here that’s how we interpret that! 🤣
