@Joseph this is from a Coyote tournament covering 5 states. 2 1/2 day tournament. I’m estimating somewhere around 400 killed for the tournament. Haven’t gotten the totals so this may not even make the top 3. Heard one team killed 33.

That’s incredible. How many teams where there. How many did the top team take and what did you all do with the furs ??

@Joseph honestly I’m not sure of the number of teams. I could prolly find out. The Carolina Coyote Classic is a 5 state tournament…..Virginia, Tennessee, North and South Carolina and Georgia. Gets bigger every year. Been going since it’s 5th year. Gets bigger with more coyotes killed every year. Because it’s a tournament, and fur damage isn’t a concern. Fur market isn’t big in this area as opposed to colder states with better fur. Some teams keep theirs and some are mounted especially the heaviest dog ect. The ones that don’t have any value for fur or mounting are buried with a backhoe. This is only an attempt to help farmers out with coyote problem and for the deer, quail, rabbit and turkey populations that coyotes predate on.

Wow, we have a lot of those where I live at, right before hunting season we was getting 6 head on camera and we just got some recently on camera

@Marci coyote and hog hunting are legal in my state year round, with no bag limit and you can hunt them day or night. Keeping predators in check is the best thing you can do for your deer, turkey, quail and rabbit populations.

My cousin came out bc he has uncle that has the thermal thing and all that stuff to hunt coyotes and they got one and missed one but we trains go by here they holler, we have a lot of coyote pups to & a couple of months ago my brother friend came here trying to trap some but we never did get one on the trap
