    Yea pretty much what Shawn said. Temperature plays into it as on when it’s too cold to sleep comfortably they roam and feed and their own safety to roam. @Mike might have a few tips here

    He’s generally up to a mile away during daylight from where your getting pics at that time. Freshening a mock scrape around noon each day for 2-3 days in a row during the rut might force his dominance to come in and check it out during daylight. It’s worked for me. Otherwise, backtrack him with your trail cam and find his daylight movement. Good luck!

    Best way: be in the woods every chance you get for the whole season. Let your gut tell you where to go/setup. One thing I’ve learned about old bucks is they are real picky when they come out in the open. Almost like a turkey-one little thing off and they stay hidden.
