@Brad I don’t recall ever grinding any. I’d be curious to see how it turns out. We mostly made roasts and stews with it.

@Brad and @Thomas I have ground it and now just stick to roast. Because you have to cook bear so well due to Trichinosis it dries out way too much when it is ground. But like mentioned already in the post it is hard to do better than slow cooked bear. Maybe I am over cautious about the Trichinosis issue but better safe than sorry.

@Rich I always looked at cooking bear meat like cooking pork.

The ground makes some great sausage. I cured a roast for bear ham and that was delicious

@Rich I haven’t had that issue but it would depend on what you’re making. It’s not a burger grind, that’s for sure. Has been great on tacos, Mexican pizzas and breakfast casserole.

You know I love bear! I have a sweet and sour bear roast recipe if you want to try that one also. It's incredible. It's hard for me to say I like bear over venison, but I definitely like them the same, just in different ways.

Never had it. And like @Derek beaver stew, and everything else i see prepared and posted here, I'd be very willing to try it.
