That's an interesting question! It's hard to say without seeing the shed in person. It could be either of those possibilities, or something else entirely. Idk if it’s a NJ thing but I’ve seen a lot of bucks over the past few years that are giant spikes that are definitely 2.5 years old a lot of bucks with barely any tines just a good large main beam wonder if it’s the food here

What a cool find! Could be a buck on the declining rack. I could be wrong but it doesn’t seem like a deformity during velvet because (usually) there would be more evidence of a deformed tine on the main beam but I don’t see any!
