It is possible to secure a Dakota Kennel in the backseat of a small SUV if the kennel size is compatible with the size of your SUV's backseat. However, it is important to make sure that the kennel is properly secured to prevent any movement during transport. You can use seat belts or straps to secure the kennel to the seat. It is also recommended to place a non-slip mat or pad underneath the kennel to prevent it from sliding around. As for the specific kennels you mentioned, it would be best to check their dimensions and compare them to the size of your SUV's backseat to ensure a proper fit. Im not sure about the kennel but you can buy a tether on amazon that clips to their collar and snaps into the seat belt plug to keep them from moving around in the car…

@John I actually have a crash tested harness from Amazon! My dog just seems to always be struggling with it on. I thought she might be better off in the crate where she can stand up and turn around.

I just thought with a little tether she could just lay on the seat, good luck ma’am!

@Heath @Houndsman - Do you have any input on securing a kennel to the backseat of an SUV? Appreciate it!

@Jackie never have. But I think rachet straps would work
