Hunting hogs on public land in Florida is pretty difficult since no baiting is allowed. Plenty of scouting and sitting is involved. Yesterday afternoon, I got in the stand with about 1.5 hours of shooting light. I could hear a couple of hogs squealing nearby but nothing was coming near. Finally one started to come, it stuck its head out of the brush but a shot on the nearby private land made it retreat back into the brush. Come on, man!! Finally with about 15 minutes of light left, this one came out and I took the shot! It dropped right there so no tracking required. Of course, it was right in a huge muddy spot so it was covered in mud. Had to get it out quickly and get it rinsed off!
