Wow, on the snow depth....and happy to see the deer willing to come in to eat. Sharing the hay....👏🏻

@Lisa the deer are welcome to eat all they want but its not really the best for them.

May not be the best, but the other option isn't good either😉

Wow, looks like a Michigan lakeshore blizzard.. Do you ever get any elk down or do they migrate elsewhere?

  • Robert's avatar

@Mike We use to a lot but very few during winter anymore. A guy by the name Gram Russell lead singer (Air Supply) Brought a shit load of land to the SE. of us and feeds the Elk throughout the winters. He is a big Anti Hunter😡

@Mike We probably have another 12” of snow on top of what’s pictured.

@Robert can you get permission on his neighbors? 🤪.

@Robert wow. We had that for a few weeks but now the ground is bare…

@Mike he borders a sheep ranch property to the north the old rancher passed away and his kids and son in laws don’t see eye to eye with me😂 And he borders the National Forest to the east. But between the ranch property and Air Supply there’s enough property the elk stay locally year around it’s all Mtn. Property. There been times I’ve caught the elk on my side during the hunt.😁

@Mike I have shoveled my house my rental house and my Shop off I’m getting to old for that shit. Seems like we have a 7 yr. Cycle around here and this is the year.

@Mike my boy should draw his Wasatch elk this year🤞

  • Mike's avatar

@Robert sweet! I think I’m finally gonna draw my early mule deer tag in Colorado. 19 points so after 20 yrs I’m ready!

  • Robert's avatar

@Mike good luck 20 years is a long time to wait My boy is 15 on the Wasatch

@Robert yeah, a lot of things to think about when a tag takes that long. Basically, once in a lifetime for me now. I’d be 75 on the next one. I plan on hunting still, but not at 13,000 feet from a backpack…

@Mike same here I don’t even put in for draw hunts anymore I just make sure grandkids that eligible are put in the draws units. Utah pisses me off if you put in for LE elk you can’t put in for any other LE species so your looking at 30+ years for elk and a deer. I will hunt til I drop but it will be on OTC tags.
