Ha! Lucky! It was about 80 degrees here then. Our rifle season opens a little later, but I remember being out that week with my bow and I was wearing the gear that I'd usually run for early bow season! If I remember correctly, it got cold like a week later? Like down into the 30s here.

@Derek that is correct!! Here in Minnesota we got snow that following weekend and it was 20-30 degrees! Still seemed like there was a decent amount of shooting opening morning for how warm it was!

@Kayla same here. We had quite a bit of movement all season. I ended up taking a smaller 8 point buck at the end of rifle season that I had been watching all season. I had a bigger one in the area I was holding out for that managed to give me the slip. I was more than happy with the buck I did harvest though. He was a fighter and his antlers were quite busted up. Very unique set of antlers and many great meals and memories! Nice buck by the way! Congratulations!

@Derek That’s a great story! We can’t always get the ones we want or else there would be no desire to keep trying! :) Gotta love the character in the antlers though!

@Kayla absolutely! It's what keeps us going over that next mountain or exploring that next over section of forest.
