So many parallels with us and Gunnar man.. right down to when we got him, when the kids arrived, his age at the end, etc. I feel your pain. Godspeed Ernie..

@Mike thanks Mike. I had a good day with him yesterday. He seemed some better and I was struggling with my decision. I didn’t want to give up on him. He hadn’t eaten since Wednesday though. The vet told me there’s nothing wrong with giving him a good day for his last day.

@Brad whoever coined the phrase, “Time heals all wounds” lied. Ernie leaves a void which can never be filled. The days you cry on the outside will become fewer, but you will never stop crying on the inside. Don’t ask me how I know. I believe Ernie now awaits your arrival with a lolling tongue and body-shaking tail gyrations. May God grant you and your family peace and solace as you weather this storm.

Sorry to hear this. A life without those memories would be lesser. The time spent with him will always outweigh the time without. My condolences to you and your family. Rest easy Ernie.

So sorry for your/your family’s loss Brad. Hopefully the fun, fond, funny and loving memories make their way into your thoughts more than the sad ones. I’m wishing you guys the best through this.

Ernie will be missed by all. I always enjoyed coming to work at GoWild on days that he was there. He kept me company in the warehouse from time to time. He was also a frequent guest on some podcast. You could often hear his tail wagging against the table in the background because he was excited to be with us all. We'll all miss you, buddy, but remember you forever. Sorry for the loss, brother.

  • Waterfowl's avatar

Sorry for you loss so hard!

  • Brad's avatar

@Derek I never listen to the shows after we record them. I wonder how many podcasts that dog has been on 😂

  • Brad's avatar

    @Waterfowl thanks

  • Derek's avatar

@Brad he got a real good shout out once when he about cleared us all out of the room with one of his farts! Good times, man.

  • Brad's avatar

@Derek oh dude I remember a few of those. One was an episode with John hunter on the ol’ restless native. I think it was episode 27.

  • Jacob's avatar

So long friend. Enjoy the mountains of bacon on the other side.

  • Brad's avatar

@Jacob I hope he’s watching a squirrel while chewing on a bacon chunk right now

  • David's avatar

    Rest In Peace Ernie. 😢🙏

Dang Brad, heartbreaking and heart warming story about a dog, friend, family member. It’s a shame they come with a expiration date. Cherish the memories.

  • Brad's avatar

@Jon my buddy said they have a shorter live because they give us 100% every day

  • Jon's avatar

@Brad most true. Still a real bummer.
