That’s a really cool idea! Great way to relive each hunt! Do you write up any of your hunts that you don’t come home with an animal?

I wish I did but I have not come up with a good way that I will keep up with. This way I stick a shell in my pocket then place it on the kitchen table to remind me to write the story.

This is so awesome! I’m a big fan of what you are doing. I started keeping a hunting journal but I’ve noticed I start putting so much detail and then I put it off because I feel like I have to put all the detail and don’t have time for it

Thanks for the idea! I’ve saved some shells over the years from hunts

@Adam this really forces you to write a short version. I always use both sides and still run out of space so just hit the highlights.

Good idea. Too bad I never done that, bugs got to all my coyote tails and I had to throw them away

You know that is a great idea. It would be great if you could seal them like a little time capsules. And mark done the date on the outside. Then some time many years from now you or your grand kids can open them and read of hunt from the past.

Been doing this on all the first. First buck, duck goose etc. Also started with my son years ago. Get them out every so often and the memories just come pouring back.

That's an awesome idea. I try to take a picture every successful hunt and write down the details and put it in a scrap book.

Cool idea! I saved the shells from my first harvests, but only dated them. Notes are way smarter!
