Any good public land turkey hunting in Florida?

@Tyler definitely! Most places are quota only, meaning you apply for a lottery on the area. They split them up by date and number of hunters allowed. There are a few no quota areas that are open all season and it never hurts to knock on doors around the good quota areas. I’ve made a few good friends that way and gained access to the WMA through their property, even gotten permission to hunt on a few small pieces.

@Chuck thanks for the info. I’m in Missouri and have always wanted to hunt Florida but not through an outfitter

@Tyler make an account on FWC and start applying for quotas in November. First drawing you have a month to submit, after first drawing there’s weekly reissue drawings. I’d look at the turkey population density maps and find a WMA in that area then apply for that quota. Come down a few days before the hunt to scout at minimum.
