    @Appalachian I’ve not considered that. I can’t use one very well so I’d have no idea if one I made would be worth carrying into the woods.

    @Gobbler id say it would, I know it'd look nice at least. I've made several wingbones and rivercane trumpets, as well as some from plastic tubes and they all sound good enough to be dangerous in the right hands. I think as long as you roughly matched the tapering down of a regular wingbone in the cavity of the wood id say it'd do well.
