👍🏼we also canned some of our meat, another storage idea.

@Casey good call! Canning is definitely something I need to try. I just have to do a little research and get the supplies.

Any porterhouses you don’t want can be shipped my way lol

@Joe it took reading this to realize that we only received NY Strips and a couple fillets as far as standard steaks go. Not sure how I didn’t think to check the boxes for sirloin steaks, porterhouses and ribeyes

When I harvested my Moose, we pre-planned and put some $$$ on a chest freezer. I’ve got Turkey, Pheasant, Deer, Elk, Moose and King Salmon in the freezer (stand up) and the new chest freezer. Hoping to punch a few tags this fall!

@John we usually plan a little better, but had another friend offering up pork and meat chickens from her farm and then these folks offered the beef when we bought hay from them.

@Eric good on ya! Good luck this year!!!

@John thank you and you as well! I can’t lie, I’m a little jealous of the contents of your freezer 😂

@Eric patience and persistence my friend!!!

@John for sure. I’m learning more and more every day. Wishing I had gotten into all of this much sooner in life!

@Eric exactly I started really hunting in my 40’s. Didn’t harvest my first deer until I celebrated my 30th anniversary of my 21st birthday! Lol

I’ve had the same issue… why I have two giant cheat freezers now! Plus two refrigerator freezers for over flow.

@James this was more of a “when it rains it pours” thing for us. We have a small chest and medium chest as well as an upright freezer, but our meat orders are usually a little more spread out through the year. All of the opportunities came in for us within the span of about two months. We ordered and then deer season came along lol. I’ll get it figured out. It isn’t a bad “problem” to have.

@Eric haha no no it’s not a bad problem to have!
