Good lookin doe and dog! My husband loves to bow hunt. So this year, I’m trying my luck at training our 9 month old miniature schnauzer to track.

Any tips for me? I would appreciate any advice.

@Shan it’s actually a buck! Not mine so I really didn’t even think to lift the head up and make the antlers visible lol

Hi Shan, sorry for the delay as I haven’t been very active in here lately. I would highly suggest picking up a copy of John Jeanneneys book “tracking dogs for finding wounded deer”. It’s pretty much the “bible” of tracking. Also if you join the United Blood Trackers Association you can get it on their website at a discounted rate. It’s a fairly expensive book but a wealth of knowledge. I would also try to find your local tracking group if there is one. Several fb pages that you could join as well. I myself have traveled so multiple states to attend tracking seminars hosted by some of the best trackers in the country and even people from across the globe. Let me know if you have any others questions
