80° hunt on Christmas Day in Texas! We decided to go ahead and hunt dads land, mostly just to pass the time for the evening. It was hot, humid, and we hadn’t seen but one deer all week. I figured chances were low that we’d see a deer, let alone a shooter buck. At about 4:30 I texted dad that I heard something either jump or crawl under the barbed wire fence to my left but I expected it to be a hog. Normally deer aren’t so careless to hit the wire on a jump. About 10 minutes later I hear that “slosh slosh slosh” of something walking through the swamp. Expecting to see a pig, I pulled my gun up & got the camera ready. As soon as my scope hit the deer I saw that it was a shooter buck. 
Dad has owned this land for 9 years and has only seen just a handful bucks that would be considered legal by Texas laws. This was a Christmas to remember!
