Congratulations! I used to hunt hogs here in the US. A few years ago I moved to a state with no hogs. I really miss it.

Great job in getting the dog out as often as you do. Congratulations to you both!

@Brandon it the best feeling in the world when I shoot and see the happiness in my dog 😀

@Rowdy not much hunting that gives so much adrenalin and action, it's one of the reasons i'm not moving north in sweden 😀

@Jacob thank you! they need practice, my jämthund is not 4 years old yet so i hunt on all non work days and also take 3 weeks vacation with non stop hunting

@Jacob sadly she came in heat on sunday but I shot a big sow yesterday for my friends big eastern siberian laika, the sow 100 kilo+ so it's not something we want to do but shit happens :( the pig looks small when next to this dog, she's 64 cm tall to her shoulders 🙈

@Oskar That's one good looking dog 🐶 What's the story behind that hunt?

@Jacob yeah, my girl is always mad when going into january, and when I remind her that huntingseason is starting soon again 🙈
we were a couple of friends hunting together with several dogs (still one dog per area). one dog found a group of only big boars, 5 over 200 pounds. I had taken a stand next to a spruce plantation to help shoot too reward his dog. The hunt went into the plantation and exited where i stood, i shot it at 20 yards when it ran past me. one sow got shot in the other end of the area by my friend and one giant boar with big teeth sneaked out past one of the other doghandlers but he had the phone in one hand and the radio in the other 🙈
later that day i found a old track from the night before and me and my bluetick followed it 4 km 😁

Sounds like a great day out with a couple of buddies and their hounds. Good job in harvesting that boar and rewarding the dog’s work (and by that giving some positive reinforcement!) 🐗🐶🌲💪🏻

@Jacob thank you! just sad that it was a sow.

@Oskar do you hunt bear and with your dogs too ? I see you have killed moose. Awesome

  • Oskar's avatar

@Brandon i have only trailed bear in a lead with my dogs, my friends plotts and jämthund have done the heavy lifting before but next year i will start my bluetick for real. hopefully i can find a bear trail and release them both on the same bear but it's alot of work, it's illegal to find and pursue bear with the truck here.

yeah i was lucky to shoot 3 moose this year.

@Oskar hope you can find some bear! I like my plotts. Keep us updated it is cool seeing hunts from other countries

@Brandon hopefully, i'm trying to learn as much as i can from you guys from the us. i can't ask alot of people in sweden since the breed is so small here.
