It’s been a rough season this year.  The past couple of days have been unseasonably warm, and I wasn’t expecting to see anything today.  I was thrilled to take a shot on this deer, but quickly became worried when I never heard him crash and found only a faint blood trail.  The near clean arrow had me wondering if maybe my shot wasn’t as good as I thought, but I wanted to make every effort at recovering this deer.  Thankfully, I found him; he was fewer than 100 yards from where I shot him!  Looking forward to many meals from him.
