@Joseph wow, thank you 🤦🏼♂️. I was apparently too hasty to get this posted. I will be editing the post to include the link after I click send on this reply…

Well guess I have some phone calls to make. Typical NY government overreach with no science to back it up just public opinion.

@James that’s where I take issue for sure. I mean, yes the lead ban will happened eventually anyway, but it should come from DEC, not the legislative body (though, it may have taken this route, I’m not sure). I don’t like the trapping legislation and would bet money that didn’t stem from anything out of DEC. All of that said, I like the things you’ll see on the second screenshot. Things like these are where we get to exercise our rights and play a role in our government. Too many people don’t understand that it doesn’t stop at the polls.

I basically take issue with the trapping one for sure being raised in a trapping family. I have some friends that work for DEC that will be getting a phone call. I’m all for the constitutional right to hunt and fish and the gas lease restriction. I also haven’t shot lead shot in many years. I really hope us as outdoorsman will get the voice and the ability to exercise our rights and use science backed reasoning.

@James I’m with you for sure, on all of those points! That’s exactly the point I was hoping to make here, that we do have a voice and we have to use it to keep ourselves from being walked on. I often think that politicians will champion causes and push legislation for the sake of justifying their jobs, trying to fix things that often aren’t broken.

I had an account so I was able to voice my opinion on it and then submitting it sends it right to the person that proposed the bill.
