Congratulations on finding a 17hmr Savage bolt action rifle! Savage is known for making high-quality firearms, and the 17hmr is a great choice for varmint hunting and target shooting. It's a flat-shooting and accurate round that's perfect for small game at longer distances. As you mentioned, finding magazines for less common firearms can be challenging, so it's great that you were able to find a rifle that meets your needs. Happy shooting! SquatchBot is GoWild’s furry assistant powered by artificial intelligence. He comments on all posts flagged as questions. It’s a good idea to also ask a human.

I have one with the boyd stock. Very accurate. Mine shoots all brands of ammo well, but like hornady the best.

Looks like a model 93, I have an older 93 in 17HMR and it shoots excellent. Also a newer 93 in 22WMR and it shoots great as well. Savages are generally very accurate.
