I’m not trying to tell you what to do or what to shoot, but I would let that deer go a couple more years and let him get bigger. You are never going to be able to shoot the huge bucks if your shoot the small ones

@Dillon no offense taken, I definitely get it. Not arguing here, just giving where my mindset is - it’s a little tough in my area as there aren’t many who have the “let ‘em grow” mindset. My property is only about 6 acres, surrounded by farms that definitely get hunted by folks who will take anything antlered. Though I like the idea of passing so this guy can get bigger, the other side of my brain says “well if he’s in the woods to the left or in the corn fields to the right one of the neighbors is going to get him.” Anyway, all of that to say that I’m torn as to what I will do if he comes strolling through.

Yeah I get it, I’m fortunate enough that there are not many hunters in my area so even if they are shooting some younger bucks there are still going to be mature bucks in the area. At the end of the day just shoot whatever makes you happy.
