Call him Duke! Also, if you're gentle they'll settle down and let you hold them without any fuss.

Most snakes once they calm down and figure out your not going to hurt them will let you just hold them. This one is a coachwhip.

I like it and it’s fun. I got equipped to safely deal with them when I encountered on in the back yard. Spent a lot of money getting set up. I figured getting things I needed would keep them away 🤣 so I started offering to do it for the people in my town. Now 3 years later I had cards made, a lot of people know about me, I’m the guy the Storey county sherries tell to call when someone calls them. Also if anyone was to call the Lyon county sheriffs substation in my town I’m the guy they will get ahold of. What started out as something fun to do has grown more than I ever expected. Here’s another one.

@Coyote brother what in the hell is fun about messing with a poisonous snake. If it makes you happy have fun lol. I’d rather fight a bear with a pocket knife than to mess with those things

  • Coyote's avatar

@Ralph I’ll take the snake over a bear. I’m in more control of the situation and I can outrun a snake 🤣 I’ve been catching non venomous snakes since I was 13. After the rattlesnake in the back yard I got the equipment I need and studied what I could find on the internet to educate myself. I know them well enough to deal with them safely.
