@Dan Sounds like you're like me, I've always been attracted to hunting that required action and manipulation. However this season has given me a new appreciation for hunting whitetails. I've always killed 3-6 deer every year since I was a kid but interacting with mature whitetail with a bow in hand has tripped my trigger like never before. At least you're out west where you stand a better chance to spot and stalk and such. I used to think the bone wasn't worth the wait but I think I've changed my mind 🤣

@Appalachian the beauty of multiple deer tags is you can mix it up in method and in take. Western hunting sure is addicting too though

@Mike absolutely, I kinda miss the days of our 3 buck limit. Many years I'd get one with the bow, black powder, then rifle. My buddy that guides in Alaska is out in Montana chasing mulies and his pictures have definitely peaked my interest. I definitely love the idea of spot and stalk as the opportunity for it in the woods I hunt a few and far between.

@Appalachian spot and stalk is definitely a whole different ball game. When I get a few other things out of the way I know a really good public land spot in Wyoming that has both Whitetail and Muleys. I will let you know when the kid and I get that one on the calendar. It’d be a September velvet archery hunt. Maybe @Derek would have an interest. Shot my only velvet buck out there.
