I've been hunting one particular deer but they were harvesting beans in that area so I decided to go to another part of our farm. Harvested this nice main eight with a sticker and a small little drop tine. I got to the stand about a quarter after 2:00 and I was blind calling and rattling about every 35-40 minutes. About 4:30, I saw two does in the edge of the brush and I watch them for about 25 minutes before they disappeared and I decided to blind call again. And so I rattled and grunted for about a 2 minutes series. I was looking around about 5 minutes later. Here he come looking through the brush about 70 yd from me. He made his way through the brush. Made a broadside presentation about 65 yd and the Raven put it to him. He ran in a circle about 15 yd from where I'd shot him and and he stopped. I sat there and watched him expire it didn't take 5 minutes. It all happened so fast. I was calm up until after I pulled that trigger and once I pulled that trigger I was shaking like a leaf and my old heart was racing. I knew I'd killed a good one. Even though it wasn't as big as the one I was after, I was blessed to get this deer.
