Next thing I know, a long beard sprints out of the pines and into the hardwoods coming straight at me. For just a second… he then angles to the right..(remember the tree that prevents me from swing that way..). As he gets even with me he stops and gobbles. Nothing I can do about it but wait and hope he crosses in front of me. Just as he starts too, 4 Jake’s come blasting in, on a line and right in front of my gun and stop about 25 yds out. They begin to fight and Tom says “see ya.” I had to watch the little turds for about 5 minutes before a hawk flew over. One of the alarm putted and they all blasted back the way they came from. Fun stuff🤪

I had the same fights in my head when I was still able to Turkey hunt. (I used to live in Missouri which had a much better Turkey population)- “How can a bird that can drown in the rain from staring at the sky- beat me at this game”…

@Brad hahaha, exactly. I’ve been chasing these things for 35 yrs and have only eaten one out of state tag, but each year I see everything from birds that can’t wait to jump in your lap to those that know how to do exactly what it takes to drive you bonkers🤪

☝🏻 but it's such a short drive, Mike. Lol
😜😜 Just playing. Sounds like you had a "fun time" outside🦃😁😉. Sense of humor a must, huh. I never intentionally turkey hunted, except once when I took my youngest son out. First time for both of us and we didn't know squat. LolLisa

@Lisa congrats! I’ve killed dozens of “easy ones.” If it weren’t for the days like this weekend, I doubt I’d even go any more. The challenge of getting one to cooperate is as big of a draw as the 🦃🍽️🍗
