Bankhead National Forest is 180,000 acres.

@Bradley yea I turkey hunt there. However, I do not own a truck at the time and a lot of the roads are hard to traverse without a truck. I don't mind hiking a lot during turkey season, but public land and high powered rifles concern me. Most likely I will hunt there and Mulberry, I just worry about other hunters using 300 mags. People are crazy lol.

Man, I firmly believe in being neighborly and WORKING your way into a private land situation. It can be done. I’m aware that a lot of private land hunting is spoken for or paid for these days and it may take a year or two to build a relationship but it’s worth it. Start knocking on doors and DON’T open with “can I hunt your land.” Build that relationship, offer your labor or your investment of some kind into their property. I’ve got a buddy that offers his trapping expertise to local farmers that want rid of the coons/skunks/possums and in return he gets to hunt a turkey in the spring. It’s a win-win for everybody involved. The ways you can give back to landowners it’s pretty endless. But, it will take time. Good luck!

@Nathan I get it. I hunt Chattahoochee NF in Georgia. If you do enough research you’ll be able to find a few areas
