    @Randy & @Kash Thank you, my wonderful buddies!🥰

  • Robert's avatar

    Nice rack…. It will clean up nice too… hope you did it

  • Lisa's avatar

    @Robert welp.......💔.......I was following my husband who was packing it out. I had stopped and was checking out some plants, and that is when I heard some......🤦‍♀️😖 SAWING!!!! I ran up to him and he was down on his knees sawing the antlers off the skull!! I absolutely was devastated!! I asked him what the heck he was doing! His response was that it would be easier to pack it out! 😠 It still makes me sick to my stomach, to think about that. Growing up, I never lived in the country. As a kid, I was always grabbing my dog and slipping off into the woods. I never got to enjoy life as I dreams (hunting, fishing, wildlife,etc). Ya know, back then females hung out with the guy to be safe. We never went out alone (sucks, but that is what we were taught. And still to this day, I am uncomfortable being alone. I take my MT bear spray when I am). The point in saying all that, is that finding an elk dead head like that will probably never happen again. It meant something to me. Sure, I have the antlers, but no skull.😭💔🤦‍♀️

    Heck yea good find

  • Ronnie's avatar

    @Lisa wow what a jerk sure that would be easier to carry out but that was a true trophy and sad to say you're probably right you well probably never get another find like that that sucks

  • Leif's avatar

    Wow that is a beautiful find especially complete with the skull. Sorry it didn’t all come out in one piece 😭.

  • Lisa's avatar

    @Ronnie Thanks Ronnie. Yea, I felt like screaming...but I didn't want to scare off any wildlife. I did have tears though and he heard, quietly, how hurt his actions effected me.

  • Lisa's avatar

    @Leif Thanks Leif! It was drug up underneath some brush and some logs. My guess was it was a mountain lion kill. It truly only was showing a small amount of white, as we were hiking thru. He walked past it, and I just happened to look deeper. An exciting moment for me! I've learned a lot during those 8 1/2 years in MT. And one of them was, some lack empathy, consideration of others, and I'll stop my list there. 👍🏻

    It’s amazing how hid some of those sheds can be. Here in the Pacific Northwest there’s so much stuff on the ground in the woods it’s hard to differentiate things. The last skull set I found I actually tripped over as I was walking😂. If you can find the skull it’s actually really easy to reattach the antlers to make a mount.

  • Brian's avatar

    I would have cried, that was a beautiful skull and would have looked good on the wall, but at least you still have the antlers to remind you of your magnificent find.

  • Lisa's avatar

    @Leif Yea, I know approximately where it is. I have thought about asking him. But he would have to ship it to me, as he is in Montana and I'm in Ohio. I've seen him attach antlers from a set he bought on Ebay, and attach it to a mount. But ya know Leif, I never have asked him to find it. I will now. We will see what he does. Good idea

  • Lisa's avatar

    @Brian Yes, and my hope before I pass away, is to have the photo printed and the antlers right beside it. 🥰 Good idea, eh?

  • Ronnie's avatar

    @Lisa that sucks 😢😢

  • Rick's avatar

    That’s awesome congrats on a great find

  • Lisa's avatar

    @Rick Thanks so much Rick!! It sure did make me happy!! And does, still.🥰 A ton of hiking that day and searching that day. We found other sheds, but this one won the day!😁

  • Brian's avatar

    @Lisa that would look awesome! 👍

  • Glenn's avatar

    @Lisa right?!

  • Lisa's avatar

    @Tarra Wish you lived closer so you could teach me more about fishing.☺️

  • Robert's avatar

    @Lisa It will happen again… faith..

  • Lisa's avatar

    @Robert That is good thinking right there, my friend! 🤜🏻🤛🏻 If HE can fill a fishing boat to overflowing for Simon Peter...HE can lead me to an even larger dead-head!😊👍🏻

  • Robert's avatar

    @Lisa or a live one! Bring your faith… shoot em

  • Lisa's avatar

    @Robert I'm smiling! Well done, in being a Disciple and sharing gentle encouragement. Well done! I like it! 🤜🏻🤛🏻

  • Lisa's avatar

  • James's avatar

    Very nice !! Good job !!

  • Lisa's avatar

    @James Thank you, my friend!! Long time, no hear. Hope you've been doing well over there!🤜🏻🤛🏻

  • James's avatar

    All good here, headed out ML season this Saturday.. How’s everything with you

  • Lisa's avatar

    @James forgive me, what does the "ML" represent? I have guesses, but not positive. Hard to admit I don't know everything. Ha!😉 Everything is going better now. Went thru a month of quarantine etc with my Sons, but we are slowly coming out. Been doing some fishing and shooting my bow. Nothing real extravagant. I'll keep my eyes open on any posts you may share.🤜🏻🤛🏻

  • James's avatar

    It stands for muzzle loader, glad to hear things are looking up ! I’ll watch for your posts as well, message me if any thing exciting happens

  • Lisa's avatar

    @James Ok, that (ML) is great! When I worked at Gander Mountain a man came and displayed his hand made ML. Unfortunately I wasn't able to spend much time talking to him, to learn some things. Work.🙄 It may be awhile before anything exciting happens, but I shall...if it does.😊

  • James's avatar

    There are some very nice hand made ones out there, mine however is a Remington 700 ML with a Leupold scope, a in-line, in PA the early ML season is doe only but it’s still meat in the freezer !

  • James's avatar

    @Lisa

  • James's avatar

    Best pic I have of it..

  • Lisa's avatar

    The scope is wow. I do know the optics on Leupold are great. I am pretty sure we had trail camera thru them.🤔 How long does ML season last for deer?

  • James's avatar

    Only a week for the early season, about a month for the late season but that’s flintlock only, I’m not very good with a flintlock…

  • Krissy Jean's avatar

    Very cool!

  • Lisa's avatar

    @Krissy Thanks Krissy!🥰

  • Release And's avatar

    Congrats

  • Lisa's avatar

    @Release Thanks, my friend! Hope the merchandise you sell are flying off the shelf. Been awhile, it seems, since I've seen a post. Good to hear from ya

  • Lisa's avatar

    @James A "Bo Hester" is asking about a ML. Maybe you can help?

  • James's avatar

    I’ll try, what’s the question ?

  • Lisa's avatar

    @James

  • Lisa's avatar

    @James Thanks😊

  • Randy's avatar

    Hell of a find! Good work!

  • James's avatar

    @Lisa I haven’t used that particular model but I have used CVA, I have used the Wolf model and the Optima 2, both were good reliable guns, I moved to a Remington 700 ML in .54 cal , I prefer the Remington but can’t say anything bad about CVA

  • Lisa's avatar

    @Randy Thanks Randy! It did make me super happy to find. Normally he is ahead of me and find absolutely everything. So I was happy to see it after he had walked by the area kinda quickly. It took some digging out, but I was grinning from ear to ear.

  • Lisa's avatar

    @James Thanks James. I don't know Bo, but the good Lord gave me this passion to help others. So since I didn't even know what ML stood for, lol, I just figured I would ask you. Thanks neighbor 😁😉👍🏻

  • James's avatar

    Any time !

  • Bo's avatar

    Ok you beat me . What a great find. 👍

  • Lisa's avatar

    @Bo Lol! Well! We BOTH were so super successful!! Your find is WOW! I actually have some other awesome finds....but that one was my best....let me see if I can show you a couple more....

  • Lisa's avatar

    @Bo

  • Lisa's avatar

    @Bo

  • Lisa's avatar

    @Bo I love shed hunting, but if I am in thick brush, it does make me nervous. The last two, "he" found out in the same area we shed hunt in. I just haven't been out there with him. So it is for sure a good area.😁

  • ReelCamoGirl's avatar

    Wow what a fantastic find!

  • Lisa's avatar

    @ReelCamoGirl Thanks!! I was pretty pumped!!😁🤜🏻🤛🏻

  • Stephen's avatar

    Awesome

  • Lisa's avatar

    @Stephen Thanks, my new buddy! Finding it was the highlight of my day, that's for sure.

  • Stephen's avatar

    @Lisa I guarantee. I hope I can be as lucky in two weeks for second rifle in Colorado

  • Lisa's avatar

    @Stephen Two weeks will probably feel like an eternity, ha. Just start thanking the Lord now for blessing you with a gorgeous bull elk, beautiful scenery, favor with people, and incredible memories to pack around with you for the rest of your life.😊 Will keep an eye on the Trailmix for elk photos 👍🏻 🤜🏻🤛🏻

  • Scott's avatar

    @Lisa that’s a bummer hopefully you’ll have the opportunity again one day to fix the wrong lol great find and good luck

  • Lisa's avatar

    Thanks Scott, let's hope!😊 Good to see you again, friend

  • Dave's avatar

    Congratulations on a accomplished find I am so in awe 😞 that anyone would cut on it !! I could what my brother in law would have done to anyone who cut on his favorite find

  • Lisa's avatar

    @Dave Oh my word!! The mass and drop tine! He had to have been thrilled too! Has he spotted any other bucks with some similarities, that could be DNA matched, I wonder?

  • Dave's avatar

    I’m not sure

  • Brad's avatar

    Hi Lisa

  • Lisa's avatar

    @Brad Hey Stranger. You doing well with your hunting?

  • Heather's avatar

    Absolutely love MT elk, just nothing like them. The mass is unmatched. Great find ♡

  • Lisa's avatar

    @Heather Thanks Heather! 🤗

  • Nathaniel's avatar

    Looks awesome! If you are ever down in NM and feel like she'd hunting, give me a shout...we find them pretty often when we are checking our cattle during the summer.

  • Lisa's avatar

    @Nathaniel That would be sweettttt! We have watched a lot of Primos Hunting down in NM....lots of big Bulls down there. Shed hunting would be awesome, for sure

  • Marci's avatar

    Wow that is nice !! My dream one day is to go on a hunt & get one of those

  • Lisa's avatar

    @Marci That would be fantastic! Elk are the only thing I've drawn back on and let my arrow fly. But I missed. 😆 (I should put sights on my bow, but doubt I ever will).
    I believe you'll get the chance. I live a lot off of memories now. lol.
    My Dad came up today and noticed a pillow that I had made up with the same image. He hadn't seen the photo before apparently, so he....👇🏼📸

  • Marci's avatar

    Nice that is sooo cool !! How many elk have you got ?

  • Lisa's avatar

    @Marci a big fat ZERO!! lol.
    I've been surrounded by them too!😆
    My husband has, and I've helped him quarter and pack out. He has been hunting since a kid. No excuse, but I got my bow in 2016 and wasn't aiming small when shooting instinctively. I wasn't mentally "there" and was freaked out over a bull off to my left coming in. I was standing in front of a tree and thought he was going to bust me. I just hadn't practiced enough.

  • Marci's avatar

    I gotcha, well I wish you good luck that you get one !! Back in October last year we went to Cherokee North Carolina & there was a lot of elk and we got so close to them and they would walk close by vechiles. It was amazing to see them close.

  • Lisa's avatar

    @Marci Absolutely neat, you're right! It's wonderful you got to experience that. Something you'll never forget, I'm sure.
    My husband and I went into places that felt very unsafe for me. Big bull elk just on the other side of a brush pile, smelling their urine stained under sides. Just too many close encounters that, like you, I'll never forget. Our God sure made some incredible animals, didn't He!
    We all are so blessed to get to enjoy them🥰
