Buck of a lifetime right there, wow! Congrats 

I was hunting November 5th and it was about 45 minutes till dark and it started raining so I packed all my stuff up and started walking out. About half way out of the woods a doe ran 20 yards from me so I got on my knees and knocked an arrow. 10 seconds later he popped up Ofer a ridge about 30 yards away and looked right at me. I thought it was over. Then he looked away and kemp chasing the hot doe. When he got broad side I shot. The hit looked a little back in the guts. Then it started raining again. I did not want the rain to wash the blood away. So I started tacking him. About 75 yards from where I shot him I saw him bedded down and he was licking where I shot him. He looked like he was trying to get up because the hot doe was circling him. The light was fading fast so I got out of there to give him some time. About 3 hours from when I shot him we went back and shined a light where I last saw him and he stood up and that’s when my heart sank. I felt sick the my stomach. I did not want to lose this deer. We backed out again and went back in the morning. It was also pouring down rain all night so there was no blood trail. We looked for about 20 minutes and decided to call a tracking dog. He came out at around 3 pm and he found the deer it was about 75 yards from where he bedded down the first time. When we gutted him we determined that I only hit 1 Lung. I am getting him mounted but we just figured out that we let the deer lay to long and the hide was not good because it was about 65 degrees the day I shot him. is going to be hard to beat.
