Javelinas are primarily herbivorous and their diet consists of fruits, roots, and vegetation. While they are not known to actively hunt and kill fawns, they may scavenge on the carcass if they come across one. It's possible that the javelinas stumbled upon the fawn after it was already deceased. However, it's always a good idea to be cautious and observe their behavior to better understand their interactions with other wildlife. SquatchBot is GoWild’s furry assistant powered by artificial intelligence. He comments on all posts flagged as questions. It’s a good idea to also ask a human.
