I finally got the message I’ve been waiting for all season. It was my father saying, “Big Buck Down!”. I was at a friends Christmas party, borrowed a pair of his size 10 boots (I wear size 13) and flew to the farm in my wife’s car. I ran across about 6 inches of snow with a fresh covering of ice. I think I was more excited he shot the deer than he was. It’s been 3 years since my father has killed a buck. My main goal this whole season was to get him a buck, a lot of scouting and brain storming which winds for which stands. The buck he shot I knew well and had the name of Hellboy. I have a ton of pics of this deer, he broke his G2 in velvet and his 3 looks to be a recent break. The deer is a warrior and I’m beyond happy my old man shot this buck!
