Great work! The arrows in a vertical line are a result of breath control. The ones circling the target are a result of looking at the target instead of the pin. The ones that are spread out is anticipation. Great job recognizing areas of improvement! Have you tried pulling through the shot with your release arm, instead of relying on a trigger? It helps a lot with anticipation.

@Wes thank you for the notes! After each shot I try to quickly assess what may or may not have come together on the shot. I need to consistently bring it all together. I have to admit that I’m not quite understanding what you’re meaning by pulling through the shot. Please pardon my naïveté here, I’m still quite the archery rookie. Always happy to try anything that might help!

@Eric I’m no pro. I just posted a question for the community myself. What I mean is, depending on the kind of release you’re using, wrapping your finger around the trigger, but triggering the bow by slowly pulling back by squeezing your shoulder blades together. It makes for a surprise shot almost every time.

@Wes I should clarify: only squeeze the shoulder blade of the trigger arm. Don’t move your support arm.

I recommend this series. It’s long but it really helped me!

@Wes pro or not, I genuinely appreciate the advice, thank you! I’ll check out the series and try pulling through versus squeezing the trigger. Good call on the shots circling the target. I’ve definitely noticed myself doing that. I’ll be focused on the pin, I look past it and focus on the target. I tend to realize it once I’ve already shot. I will keep a better focus on shoring that up going forward.

Do you verbalize your shot process? Helped me tremendously.
